There are as many ways to package and then travel with your gown as there are gowns. Every situation is different and I will treat it as such. Below are some general guidelines when traveling with your gown.

Traveling by car:

I normally package my gowns using a bust form and leave the train hanging down. I feel this avoids the most wrinkles possible. I protect your gown with a long, plastic, deep pink bag that cannot be seen through. I will help you pull your gown through from the back of your car, van or truck (with a topper) and ask you to hook it onto the headrest of your car.

Traveling by plane:

There are numerous ways to fly with your gown. One way is for me to fold your gown and place it in a large suitcase for you and you can check it as luggage. Or you can take that suitcase with you and leave it at the end of the walkway before you board the plane. This is exactly what parents due with the strollers and infant seats they bring with them.

I can also fold your gown into a carry on, fiber board chest (that I carry) that will fit in the overhead of your plane, or I will fold and place your gown in your own carry on suitcase.

The last way for you to travel by air with your gown is for us to put your gown on a hanger (no body form, we may stuff the bust with tissue) fold the train up and put in a travel bag. You then have to hope the airline will put in their first class closet. Remember the closet is not a full length closet, you will have to fold your gown in half or part will drag on floor. You can also put your gown in the overhead of your seats. Usually you will need to fold it in half, put it in an empty overhead then close it and watch so others do not try to put their carry on it with your gown.
